An American black bear, a Bengal tiger and an African lion They were the victims of animal cruelty, according to Imgur, but the ending of
their story will leave you believing in fate.Baloo the bear, Leo the lion, and Shere Khan the tiger (all three known as BLT)
were brought together as 2-month-old cubs and have grown up as a family.
The trio was originally owned by a drug dealer who didn't properly care for them
leading to neglect, poor health and severe injuries. In 2001, Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary
a nonprofit that cares for animals in need, came to the rescue,
and took them to Locust Grove, Georgia, where they were treated for injuries.
"We could have separated them," Diane Smith, assistant director of the Noah's Ark Zoo
Baloo required greater care than his two friends -- his former
owner had put a harness on him and didn't adjust it as he grew, leading to a deformity, Imgur reports.
Given that the trio had found comfort in each other during their years of mistreatment,
he Sanctuary's staff realized that they couldn't be separated and fenced them in together.
Unfortunately, the government passed new federal regulations requiring big cat enclosures
to have 16 foot fences put up, which would take effect in October of this year.
Baloo, Leo and Shere Khan's fence was only 8 feet high.
If these regulations weren't met, the three animals would have to split up.
Rebuilding the fence would cost $489,000.After arriving in Georgia, Baloo had the harness surgically removed.
With October slowly approaching, The Sanctuary entered a contest to help raise money.
On August 15, CrowdRise, an online fundraising site, teamed up with RYOT, a social news
platform to announce a challenge called #STARTARYOT, according to ncronline.com.
They offered $75,000 to the nonprofit that raised the most money in five weeks.
On Oct. 10, they had announced that Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary had won.
They even received an extra $10,000 for attracting the most unique visitors during the last week of the challenge.
Additionally, they were able to raise $362,269 through crowd-funding.
The installment company even agreed to discount the price of the new fence. And once more, all is right in the BLT-land.

The Tiger And His Goat Friend MOSCOW — Timur the goat was meant to be nothing more than a tasty
meal for Amur, a Siberian tiger living in a safari park.Timur had other ideas.
The stubborn animal was sent into the tiger's enclosure earlier this week
as one of the predator's twice-weekly meals of live animals, the park said Thursday.
However, no one had taught Timur to be afraid of tigers. And instead of dutifully fulfilling
its role in the food chain, Timur chased Amur out of the big cat's own sleeping place.
The tiger, by this point seemingly puzzled at the role-reversal, opted against confrontation.
Timur has been bedding down in his spot for four nights now
Amur has been banished to sleeping on the shelter's roof. The drama played out
at the Primorsky Safari Park, in Russia's far southeastern corner. The park said the "daredevil"
goat's heroics were what actually earned it the name Timur,
after a courageous kid from a popular Communist-era children's book.
"It's a fitting name for such a fearless animal," the park said.

Shakira The Serval Kitten Finds Puppy Love November 18th 2008 Peeking out from among these puppies this tiny kitten may look a little out of her depth
but in fact she is right at home.Shakira, the five month-old Serval cat, was welcomed into this unlikely clan after she was rejected by her mother
from a local zoo near Munich, Germany.'Shakira came to us when she was just 14 days old,' says animal carer Roland Adam.A friend of mine contacted
me from a local zoo and told me how Shakira's mother had not produced enough milk for her litter and her other brothers and sisters had died.
'When I heard this I decided to take her in.'Acting as a surrogate mother, Mr Adam spent two hours each day feeding the tiny kitten who only
weighed 1000 grams. After six weeks of care and attention, Shakira became strong enough to be introduced to her new family - a pack of Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs
Bearing 11 cubs in July of this year, mother Katijnga accepted the spotted cat into the clan straight away.'I wanted to provide Shakira with some animals that could
be a substitute for her own brothers and sisters and for her mum,' says Mr Adam, 53.'It turned out that Shakira was integrated immediately into
this dog family. She plays hide and seek, catch and even play fights with the dogs. 'When they tire from playing with each other, the cubs lie down
together.' And it looks as though Shakira is happy with her new mother too.'You see a strong bond between Shakira and her foster mom,' says Mr Adam.
'When they play, Shakira did not even for a moment push out her claws - it is a loving family.' Serval cats are native to the grasslands of Africa.
Weighing an average of 40 pounds they can grow 24 inches in height and up to 36 inches in length. Despite being wild cats, the Serval
cat has been kept as a pet by Europeans for hundreds of years.

Tiger Cares for Piglets and Vice-Versa The Sriracha Tiger Zoo in Thailand is famous for
their unique attractions, fun shows, and the ability for tourists to get close to
(and often touch) the tigers. However, the most famous attraction is the couplings of pigs and tigers
The tiger doesn’t seem to mind the unclothed piglets,
so I’m guessing the costumes were just meant to put on a cute show for the tourists. Either that or
she ate the first set of tiger-clad piglets and the zoo hasn’t had time to create new outfits. While the zoo and all press materials claim
the pairings are completely benevolent, I personally wonder if Saimai
just views her pig-raising duties as a long “getting ready for dinner” ritual.Fittingly, Saimai herself was cared for and nursed by a pig

Lion Best Friends With A Small Dog The Garold Wayne Interactive Zoological Park in Wynnewood, OK, just south of Oklahoma City, is home to
several different exotic animals: tigers, lions, zebras, monkeys and more. But what makes the park really
special is the bond that formed between one of their big cats and a very small dog.
Bonedigger, a 500 lb lion, spends his days with his best friend Milo, an 11 lb miniature dachshund. The odd
couple became friends when Milo sensed the gentle giant was suffering from a metabolic bone disease. Milo
does his best to comfort him, the two cuddling and playing together. Zookeepers say Milo even tries to mimic
Bonedigger when he's communicating with other lions in the park, attempting similar huffs and puffs.
Take a look at the adorable duo:There ya have it: cats and dogs really can be best friends. So adorable!

Orangutan Adopts Baby Tigers In Mertle Beach South Carolina. May 13th 2015.

Leopard Cub and Dog Forge Friendship She is a baby leopard, he is a Golden Retriever.
You might think that the cat and the dog would be at each other's throats but, instead
they're inseparable friends. They met at Glen Afric, a reserve in South Africa,
when Jenny and John Booker, professional animal wranglers, adopted the tiny leopard cub
named Salati. In the National Geographic special, the Bookers said that the two animals fell for each other the instant they met.
Their then 2-year-old dog Tommy licked Salati and treated her like a sister within hours of meeting her.
The pair walk together several times a week and play together like fast friends.
But as they grow older and Salati becomes more powerful,
their owners worry that the animals' instincts will overpower their bond.
"My worry now is, Would she go for Tommy?
It's a big question," said Jenny Booker. "As big of friends
as they are, I still believe that animals are 80 percent instinct.
But her husband said that though nature may pull them apart, their bond will last.
"I don't believe that she'll ever lose that bond with Tommy," John Booker said.

Two Tigers and Three Dogs They say that dogs and cats can't be friends but this incredible footage proves otherwise,
as a group of dogs have formed an unlikely friendship with two tigers. In what is an unusual bond,
the German Shepherds - Blacky, Hugo and Jenny - are inseparable from big cat Suria and new-born tiger cub Sunny.
Suria and Sunny were both born at the Oasis of the Siberian Tiger, in Senec, Slovakia - a protected
area that breeds Siberian tigers. The older tiger - Suria - has been inseparable
from the dogs since she was first born two years ago.Incredibly,
the Oasis's newest addition - 4-month-old cub Sunny - seems to be following in her footsteps
and has struck up a friendship with the canines too.The playing dogs
and tigers were spectacularly captured by Lucia Zustakova, who was visiting the Oasis,
and also Martin Ziman, a volunteer at the oasis and regularly takes videos of the amazing scenes.
Their daily playtime allows the group to interact, sometimes getting quite
rowdy as the boisterous animals play-fight and chase after each other excitedly.
Lucia, 29, said: "It is nice to see it all and it is so amazing when you are
so near these beautiful animals. Suria plays with the dogs
every day and they just love her. I love animals and love the oasis -
it's a great project to help these tigers that are facing extinction."The oasis
is run by Yveta Irsova, who also owns the dogs. It opened in 1999
and houses 28 tigers, 23 of which were born there. The sanctuary aims to rescue
a small population of tigers from extinction and contribute to the genetic pool for the breeding of the critically
endangered lions. With several species of tigers already extinct,
Yveta and her staff are completely passionate about trying to stop the same fate happening
to Siberian tigers, who are victims of intense poaching and habitat loss.
Martin said: "The dogs are almost same age as Suria and have grown up together.
They Spend most of the time together. They are really
like siblings and play together all day long. They never hurt each other."

Kasi and Mtani were raised together at Bush Gardens in the U.S. During their youth, their unusual friendship was a treat to watch.
As he grew into adolescence, however, Kasi began drifting away from Mtani and becoming more interested in the female cheetahs in the next pen.
While Kasi now spends more time with other cheetahs, the two are still good friends and often visit schools and other places together.
